they were different when i was a kid, they wernt snap ones like that, they were little cubes that had schematic symbols on each one that were about the size of a dice. each cube had an electronic component in it. made by science fair/maxitronics.
I really wish i had these as a kid, i tryed real circuits but gave up because they were too difficult, these would have been so fun
I might have to buy some now to make up for it

I had the ones that you had to stick the wires into the springs but I had the most basic one.
